2011 GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept

2011 GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept 1GMC today announces the new 2011 Sierra Denali HD, the first offering of the exclusive Denali line on a heavy-duty GMC pickup. The Sierra Denali HD leads a comprehensively redesigned lineup of 2011 Sierra 2500HD and 3500HD trucks that go on sale in early summer – including the most powerful diesel engine in the segment.

2011 GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept 2Sierra HD’s new 6.6L Duramax turbo diesel delivers 397 horsepower (296 kW) at 3,000 rpm and 765 lb.-ft. of torque (1,037 Nm) at 1,600 rpm.

2011 GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept 3The Sierra Denali HD comes exclusively on the 2500HD chassis, in a 4WD crew cab standard box configuration. A Vortec 6.0L gas V-8/six-speed automatic powertrain is standard and the new Duramax 6.6L turbo diesel/Allison 1000 six-speed transmission powertrain is available.

2011 GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept 4The iconic Denali four-bar, chrome grille with round air inlets distinguishes the Sierra Denali HD on the outside, along with body-color bumpers, chrome door handles, chrome accents and 18- and 20-inch polished forged aluminum wheels.

2011 GMC Sierra All Terrain HD Concept 5The balance of the new 2011 Sierra HD lineup is identified on the outside by new, three-bar grilles and powertrain-badged louvered hoods, along with a revised, full-width chrome steel front bumper and a new family of 17-, 18- and 20-inch wheels. It’s beneath the skin, however, where they are truly separated from their predecessors – and the competition.

2010 GMC Yukon Hybrid vehicle

The Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrid uses a combination of its 6.0-liter V8 engine and two electric motors that charge a 300-volt nickel-metal hydride battery. The vehicle can run on either gasoline, electricity or a mixture of the two using an automatic system that monitors the vehicle's torque, and state of the battery to choose the most efficient source of power.

The battery is charged either directly by generating electricity through driving one or both electric motors using the gasoline engine (while the vehicle is coasting or being driven by the gasoline engine), or by the wheels driving one or both electric motors through what is called "Regenerative braking" when the vehicle is decelerating, thus regaining a small amount of the energy invested in forward momentum. The Tahoe is considered a strong hybrid, in that it can run entirely on the battery (for a limited range) at low speeds. In city driving, the EPA rating of fuel consumption for the 2WD version of the hybrid is 21 mpg. In comparison, non-hybrid varieties of the Tahoe are rated no higher than 15 mpg in city driving.

The 2010 GMC Terrain

2010 GMC Terrain is another excellent compact crossover SUV from the house of General Motors. The Chevy Equinox and Terrain share several auto parts and even the basic architectural design, though Equinox looks more like a redesigned Terrain.

Looking at the salient features of the latest generation Terrain models, you'll discover that General Motors has incorporated several unique things in the new Terrain such as the 2 pulse techniques with a direct infuse engine injection that helps the engine in starting up faster in cold weather too.

The 2010 Terrain will be marketed in four trims viz SLT-1, SLT-2 as well as SLE-1, and SLE-2. The SLE-1 and 2 will be the base trims offering the standard features, while the SLT trims will offer heated front seats, leather upholstery, and other advanced features.

In 2010 GMC Terrain, fuel economy is going to be yet another extraordinary aspect. A 4-cylinder model with front-wheel drive has bagged EPA calculation of 22mpg on city and 32 mpg on highways, making an overall average of 26 mpg altogether; this is stupendous for an SUV of its kind. The 3L V6 also achieves 20+ mpg, along with plentiful power punch to tackle the hilly tracks. The latest generation V6 powered GMC Terrain comes with a towing capacity of 3500 pounds.

What's more, the new Terrain isn't going to be a costly affair despite all its goodness, and will stand forth in the race of the most affordable compact crossover SUVs as well. So, keep an eye on its release this year, and how it really performs when it hits the roads worldwide.

GM also offers either a rear-wheel drive or four-wheel drive drivetrain with standard, extended, and four-door crew cab bodystyles. Most models come with the 2,770 cc (2.77 L; 169 cu in) LK5 I4 engine as standard, but a more powerful 3,460 cc (3.46 L; 211 cu in) L52 Straight-5 comes with the Z71 package on 4-door versions and is optional on all others.

The 4-door Z71s also get the 4-speed automatic transmission standard. This package was later dropped in favor of LT2 and LT3.
