



The wait for the John Cooper Work-tuned versions of the Cooper S and Cooper S Clubman is over as MINI has released pictures and details on both models. Set to make their public debut at the Geneva Show in early March, the JCW MINI Cooper S models are equipped with a modified version of the 1.6-liter twin-scroll turbocharged engine generating 208 HP (155 kw or 211 bhp) and a maximum torque figure of 260 Nm ( 192 lb-ft) available from 1,850 rpm to 5,600 rpm by means of overboost the torque can be increased to 280 Nm. (207 lb-ft US).
The MINI John Cooper Works takes 6.5 sec to accelerate from 0–100 km/h (62 mph) while the time required by the MINI John Cooper Works Clubman is 6.8 sec. Both have a maximum speed of 238 km/h or 148 mph.

However, the coupe promises to be quicker and even more capable than the three-door JCW Mini as it is lighter due in large part to the weight saving aluminum roof and the elimination of the rear seats.This Wednesday, on August 26, the MINI brand will turn 50 and to celebrate the occasion the British automaker will reveal the first photos a two-seater coupe concept car based on the hatchback model ahead of a planned debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show. According to Carscoop's inside sources, the most distinctive styling features of the coupe variant of the MINI are the steep windshield and of course the new roof. According to our insider, the Coupe concept will be joined in Frankfurt by the long-anticipated Roadster model. What our source didn't reveal is when or if these two sporty versions of the Mini will make it into production. And yes, the photo above is a photoshop based on an older MINI concept car that we drew up a couple of months ago when the first rumors broke about the Roadster model. Unfortunately, we don’t have all the details in our hands, but from what we made from the French press release, Pioneer’s MINI Pick-Up features a wide-bodykit from MS-Design, a lowered suspension kit from Spax and 18-inch alloy wheels wrapped around 215/40 tires.
Our source told us that the concept car will be based on the John Cooper Works Mini using the same 1.6-liter twin-turbocharged four-pot that pumps out 211 horsepower and a maximum torque of up to 280Nm or 207 lb-ft with overboost deployed.
