Porsche AG announced the development of a parallel hybrid system for the Panamera.

According to Car and Driver, it may use a 3.6 litre V6 engine with a 34 kilowatts (46 hp) electric motor found in the Cayenne hybrid.

The rear of the intake grill is painted black, as are the twin tailpipe exhaust, even a roll-over bars are a must. Black Edition, a sign the back, another co-factor to recognize the trunk of the car, you know, if you're color blind!

2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR


Porsche has unveiled the 2011 911 GT3 RSR,which will debut on Dec. 11 at the Porsche R&D center in Weissach, Germany.

The new 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR comes with a 4.0-litre, 6-cylinder boxer engine that now develops 455 hp (355 kW) at 7,800 rpm and 450 Nm of torque. The maximum rev range of the 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR continues to be 9,400 rpm.

The transmission is a six-speed manual with sequential jaw-type shifting, a single-mass flywheel, hydraulic disengagement lever, a three-plate carbon-fiber clutch and a limited slip differential. The body consists mostly of steel but thanks to a series of weight saving modifications, the whole car tips the scales at just 2,689 pounds.

The 911 GT3 RSR also includes aero modifications, including a new front lip to increase downforce. The German automaker increased the size of the front wheels from 11 inches to 12 inches for better grip and less understeer.

The 911 GT3 RSR joins the 911 GT3 R and the 911 GT3 Cup at the very top of Porsche Motorsport’s lineup and costs a mere EUR 410,000 plus country-specific value added tax. If you already own a GT3 RSR and want the extra power and aerodynamic mods, but don’t want to spend almost half a million euros on a new car, the modifications are available as a kit for GT3 RSR cars from the 2010 season.

Debut for the 2011 version of the world's most successful GT race car



Stuttgart. The Porsche 911 GT3 RSR takes off into the new motorsport season with extensive modifications. The 2011 version of the world's most successful GT race car celebrated its international premiere at the "Night of Champions" party held at the R&D Centre in Weissach to mark the end of the motorsport season. Priority in the further development of the GT3 RSR was given to the newly designed aerodynamics at the front and rear, changes to the suspension kinematics and to the engine.

The 4.0-litre, six-cylinder boxer engine now delivers 455 hp (355 kW) at 7,800 revs, five horsepower more than its predecessor. The power increase results from an engine management system which adapts even better to different fuel grades, as well as a redesigned exhaust system and a modified air intake housing. Moreover, the driveability of the famously efficient engine has undergone further improvements. Maximum revs remain unchanged at 9,400 rpm.

Clearly visible are the modifications to the front. A new front lip provides higher downforce at the front axle. The front wheels are now wider with the rims growing from 11 to 12 inches giving additional grip and less of an understeering tendency. The position of the rear wing and the shape of the wing mounting also underwent optimisation and were adapted to the new rear fairing with additional air outlet louvers. The rear lid was also redesigned for optimised air ducting. Like the 911 GT3 Cup and the GT3 R, the RSR has now been equipped with the LED rear lights taken from the latest 911 road-legal cars.

The 911 GT3 RSR joins the 911 GT3 R and the 911 GT3 Cup as the top model of Porsche Motorsport's product range. The successful long distance racer from Weissach can be ordered now at a price of 410,000 Euro plus country-specific value added tax. All 2011 modifications are available as a kit for GT3 RSR cars from the 2010 season.

Porsche Exclusive Celebrates 25 Years


Porsche Exclusive, the German sports car manufacturer's personalization division, is turning 25 years old this month. To celebrate this occasion, Porsche has released a brief history of the brand, featuring the milestone models of the range. Porsche Exclusive offers hand-crafted personalization factory options and takes care of everything from development to sales.

Porsche Exclusive has a team of 100 specialists that cover all the operations from a custom vehicle’s development to its sale process. Based in Weissach, the division creates items like performance parts or top interior equipment, integrating them in the production process of a new vehicle.

The same team also takes care of sales, offering customers refined interior equipment or performance enhancements, which, in many cases, have been integrated in the production process of stock Porsches as well.

The Exclusive team also has been the driving force behind several of Porsche's limited-edition cars, including the 250-vehicle 911 Sport Classic, mating the best of Porsche's design history with today's technology.

For the past 25 years, Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, Stuttgart, has been offering the option – under the term “Exclusive” – of individually tailoring a Porsche to create an unmistakable, unique vehicle immediately on ordering it. Porsche Exclusive offers hand-crafted refinement ex-works to provide a highly personalised touch in terms of design and performance. Virtually any customer desire can be fulfilled by Porsche Exclusive following a personal dialogue.

The sole prerequisite is technical and qualitative feasibility. Implemented with the finest craftsmanship and using selected materials, the skilful hands of the Exclusive specialists create components and complete vehicles in which personal care and dedication can be seen and felt down to the very last detail. Bespoke, manual work – also with needle and thread wherever appropriate – is the most important principle of Porsche Exclusive. Because no machine handles material with as much finesse as human hands.

A team of about 100 specialists at Porsche Exclusive takes care of everything from development to sales. Whether it be refined interior equipment or performance enhancements, all options from the Exclusive range and the vehicles themselves are not only developed in Weissach, but are also to a large extent integrated in the production process of a new Porsche.

In 2009 Porsche Exclusive added a further gem to its portfolio in the form of the 911 Sport Classic. Limited to 250 vehicles, this was a 911 which perfectly combined tradition and modernity. Designed with Porsche’s discerning customers in mind, the Porsche 911 Sport Classic with fixed rear wing in the “ducktail” shape first exhibited by 1973′s legendary Carrera RS 2.7 was a quite special highlight.

25 years of success are a good reason to celebrate. Porsche Exclusive will be doing this in a manner which reflects the high standards of the company within the company: with a strictly limited edition of a new 911 Speedster. In homage to the first Porsche model that bore the name Speedster – the 356 Speedster – the production run for the new model is limited to 356 cars. In the best tradition as a puristic, open-topped two-seater with low windscreen and double bubble on the convertible-top compartment lid.

With the 911 Speedster Porsche Exclusive will herald in a year chock-a-block with activities. With a new book on the Porsche Exclusive history, which will be available in the Porsche Museum shop from March 2011, a special Museum exhibition to run from March to May 2011 or a special Porsche Travel Club trip in June, for instance. Amongst other venues, Porsche Exclusive can be experienced live at the vintage vehicle grand prix at the Nürburgring in August 2011.
